- Dinner
- Serves Family-size batch
- Jewish
- Toddler friendly
Ingredients
- 3 lbs ground turkey (divided, about half for sauce and half for meatballs)
- 2 large onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- Salt, pepper, celery salt (seeds)
- Tomato sauce (about 9 oz)
- Tomato paste (4 cans, size uncertain)
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- 1 egg
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Brown the 2 large onions in olive oil, reserving 2 spoonfuls of onion for the meatballs. Season the onions with salt, pepper, and celery salt; add the garlic and cook until fragrant but not too browned. Add about half the ground turkey to the pot along with the tomato sauce and tomato paste; simmer. For the meatballs, combine the remaining ground turkey with the reserved onion, ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, celery salt, and the egg; mix well and fry in a pan. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce.
Note
Tomato paste can size is uncertain in the source (written as 4, 15oz cans, which seems large next to ~9oz of sauce -- may mean smaller cans). There's also an abbreviated ingredient ("mBT") next to the seasoning line that wasn't clear.
